On Friday the 23th of September my girlfriend Anouschka gave birth to a healthy baby girl. She was born at home at 7:41 pm and her name is Mila. The delivery took about 3 hours which is quite fast for Dutch standards. Anouschka and Mila are doing well and I’m a very proud dad!
Because of this happy event I changed the position of the Wireless pan & tilt cam (CAM 3) so that when Mila is in her baby box you can have a look at her.
Last Saturday (20-08-2011) I went with a couple of friends to Decibel Outdoor Festival and man, what a party! Almost 50.000 partypeople from all over the world dancing to hardcore, hardstyle, techno, jump, house, etc. I had the time of my life! The weather was also more then we could wish for: hot and a lot of sun. If I look at today (a week later) I realize how lucky we where because all we have now are low temperatures and rain. Summers in the Netherlands SUCK!
Anyhow, although Decibel is pretty expensive to attend to this is one festival that I want to go to every year from now on.
In my previous post I mentioned that I would broadcast live at the festival with my mobile phone if the data connection was good enough. Unfortunately this wasn’t the case (there was no 3G signal at all!) so for people that tuned into the Mobile Cam hoping to see some live footage as it happened, my apologies.

Upcoming Saturday August 20 (from 11 am till 11 pm) it’s time for another edition of Decibel which is one of the biggest outdoor festivals of dance music in the Netherlands. Decibel is organized by B2S, which is also the organizer of events like Euphoria, Hard Bass, Loudness and Pussy Lounge which I attended to in the past (there will be another Euphoria in September again). These events (and more) will all get their own stage/area at Decibel so actually Decibel is a mix up for all the parties/festivals that B2S organizes. So it’s gonna be one hell of a party!
Decibel is held at holiday park Beekse Bergen in Hilvarenbeek, which is next to Tilburg… lucky me . For me this will be my first time to Decibel, so I’m curious how it’s going to be. The weather forecast is looking great so far with temperatures of about 23 degrees Celsius and lots of sun, which I’m very happy about because till now the summer in the Netherlands SUCKS with a lot of rain and low temperatures. I’ve seen other outdoor festivals (which I didn’t attend luckily) getting washed away completely because of bad weather and that spoils a lot of the fun.
I’ll take my digital HD camera and my mobile phone with me. If the data connection is good I will broadcast portions of the event LIVE through the Mobile Cam so tune in upcoming Saturday between 11 am and 11 pm European time if you want to have a live look at the event!
For people that don’t have tickets yet and want to go to Decibel also, I’m sorry to inform you that the event sold out completely within a month after ticket sales started. For people that already have tickets, I’ll see you there! Of course me and my friends will be found mostly at the hardstyle areas

Since I have a new phone running on Android (the Samsung Galaxy S II) it’s possible to use it as a mobile webcam as well, meaning that I can broadcast with it where and whenever I want! Therefor I merged this new mobile cam together with the Wireless Notebook Cam because both cams are mobile/wireless and movable.
The Wireless Notebook Cam is now known as the Mobile Cam and is used as CAM 2. When it’s broadcasting you’ll see the video feed from one of the devices: laptop OR Galaxy S II.
Due to a hard drive crash my desktop computer is out of the running at the moment. I’m now trying to backup the data from the bad 1.5TB drive which goes very, VERY slow because the drive is hardly accessible now. I also have to reinstall everything again (to a new hard drive) when this is done so this will take a while unfortunately.
Because of this CAM 1 (24/7 cam, running from the desktop computer) will be offline until everything is working again. CAM 3 (pan & tilt cam) will continue to work because it runs on it’s own. I’ll try to throw CAM 2 (notebook cam) online more often as well to make up for CAM 1 being offline.
My scheduled version upgrade of WordPress and general updating of the site (like a new blog post about the wide angle lens on my pan & tilt cam) will be delayed too.
For the people that emailed me… you WILL get an answer but it’s delayed as well because I can’t get to my emails now. My email file was backed up just fine but I can’t open it until Outlook has been reinstalled again. This will happen when the backup of the bad drive has been completed but by the looks of it this can take up days, if not weeks! But I promise to get back to you once everything is working again.
My apologies for the inconvenience.
UPDATE July 2011: finally, everything is working again. It took weeks to backup most of the defective hard drive. Next task: answering all the emails I received in the meantime.
Last saturday (12 February 2011) I went with 6 friends to HARD BASS for the first time and it was AWESOME! I’ve never experienced anything on this scale before and when I think about it I get sad and wished it wasn’t over already. Nine hours of great hardstyle, great shows, cool pyrotechnics and the best of all, a great atmosphere between the 25.000 party people from all over the world made my night! Next year I’m definitely going again!

Below is a special episode of b2s TV (the organizer) which gives you a behind the scenes look of the construction of this massive event.
The first edition of Euphoria this year just passed and the next hardstyle event I will attend to is already around the corner: HARD BASS. This event is also organized by B2S but much, MUCH bigger then Euphoria because it is held in the GelreDome football stadium in Arnhem which has room for about 25.000 people! Compare that to the 2.200 people that fit into the 013 where Euphoria is held . With a special event travel agency we will go by luxury coach to Arnhem (about a one hour and 30 minutes drive from Tilburg) where the party starts at 10:00 pm and ends at 7:00 am the next morning (making this event 3 hours longer then Euphoria).
This will be my first time to HARD BASS so I’m very curious and looking forward to it. One thing is for sure: the lighting effects and the overall stage setting will be much cooler and overwhelming then that of Euphoria because of the size of this location. Even pyrotechnics will be used!
HARD BASS will be held on 12 February 2011 and tickets are still available so get yours while they last!

Last Saturday it was time for another edition of Euphoria in my hometown. Euphoria is a hardstyle event held every two times a year by B2S in the 013 which is an event hall here in Tilburg. It’s at walking distance from our house which is just perfect!
We went there with a group of about 15 people this time and boy, was it a cool party!! They had full color lasers this time and the music was the loudest I’ve heard so far. The DJ’s (Waverider, Frontliner, Wildstylez, Zany and Ran-D) where very good and the whole atmosphere was just perfect. People where having so much fun! This was one of the best editions so far (together with the previous one). Next time I’ll be present again of course!
