First of all I want to thank you for visiting our site. I have put a lot of time and work in it so it's always nice if someone takes a look at it.

So, what will you find here? What do you think about this: two live streaming webcams, a desktop cam, a lot of personal information about us (Cade & Nouske), a photo gallery, videos, a tagboard, and much more!

The webcams are located in Tilburg, a place in the Netherlands (Europe) where we live.

As you may have noticed by the intervals that I post here I don't "blog" that much anymore. That's because I'm using Twitter now and using it much more then Blogger because of the easiness. CadeCam.com online again!

We're back online! While we were on vacation the site got hacked and I had to trow it offline because at that moment it could be a potential threat to visitors (all the HTML and PHP files had been altered with an invisible iframe containing a link to malicious websites that are spreading trojans). This is also why Google and Firefox gave a warning message when searching for or visiting CadeCam.com. This has been solved.

The leak that gained unauthorised access to the site has been closed and a backup of the site has been re-uploaded. Everything is working again accept for the guestbook which has been lost in the progress. This isn't too bad because the software for it was pretty old (meaning it could be another possible way to get access to the site) and not many people made use of it anymore. I have yet to see what I will do with it's space (use another guestbook in it's place or getting rid of it completely). I also have plans to change the photo gallery software once again because I'm lucky I got it back this time. It's time for a more secure solution now.

Oh well, at this time I'm just glad the site is back up! I hope this rude interruption didn't affect too many people. If it did for you, my apologies! I will see to it that it won't happen again.

Back from our vacation

We're back from our vacation destiny Indonesia which is too bad for us but all good things must come to an end too. It was a wonderful vacation and I'm glad I recorded a lot of video and shot a lot of pictures which eventually will end up on the site.

Hey everyone! Nouske and I are about to leave to our vacation destination Indonesia. It's about 4 am in the morning now and at 5 am we will officially get up. At 6:30 am a taxi will bring us to the airport Schiphol in Amsterdam where our journey begins!

We'll see you guys again when we get back! Until then the cams will be offline too of course... SORRY!

Today is my birthday, I turned 31. The worst thing is that I still look and feel like a 24 year old while I'm actually not. Sure, it's great to look younger but I wish I actually was 24 :)

Desktopcam updated

Because I now work on a 24" widescreen monitor with a bigger screen resolution I adapted the Desktopcam to it (found underneath the "webcams" button).

Also other news is that I'm working on a higher quality broadcast for Cam 1 by raising the resolution of the webcams being used for that cam. This is harder then it looks like because the combination of software titles that I'm using now don't want to cooperate. I'm looking into another combination of webcam software that gives me the desired effect.

New monitor

Today I picked up my new 24" monitor in Eindhoven (30 minute drive from Tilburg) that I ordered online: a Samsung SyncMaster T240.

It's not the newest monitor from Samsung, I deliberately bought a monitor that was released in 2008.

All the new monitors that are released now and in the future have a new image proportion of 16:9, the same as televisions have. This means that you will get a Full HD resolution of 1920x1080 pixels with those new monitors. Although this sounds very nice and cool (16:9 monitors are being marketed by all monitor manufacturers as "Full HD" which helps them sell of course) it's not a good development.

This is why: monitors released prior to 2009 have an image proportion of the somewhat weird 16:10 format which gives you a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels with the bigger monitors. As you can see the vertical resolution of the older monitors is bigger and that's why I chose to buy an older model.

Another advantage in buying an older model is it's price, because this T240 was way cheaper that the recent models of Samsung and I even got a bigger resolution to go along with that price. A win-win situation! :)

I'm now using my new Samsung monitor together with my old Acer AL1951 (5:4, 1280x1024 pixels) monitor which gives me an enormous desktop to work on.

HTC Touch Diamond2

Today I received my new phone: the HTC Touch Diamond2!! What a sleek and sexy phone it is! It's charging right now and after that... it's playtime with my new toy :)



Also, today is the day that Nouske and I have a relationship for six years now. On 11 June 2003 we started as boy- and girlfriend. Wow, time flies!

I uploaded a new video to YouTube which you can watch on the videos page. It's about Panasonic's new Lumix camera: the DMC-TZ7/ZS3. I uploaded two videos about this new hybrid camera before but in this third part I shot the video samples myself.

Sold my Canon IXUS 40 digital camera

I just sold my Canon IXUS 40 digital camera (or PowerShot SD300 if you live in the USA). I had it since January 2005 and it's time for something new (with a wide-angle lens and a bigger zoom). I'm thinking of getting the new Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7 (or DMC-ZS3 if you live in the USA) which is world's first hybrid camera but I'll wait a bit till prices drop.

New modem arrived

We have internet in our new home (I found out by hooking up our old modem) and are online again. We still have to receive a new modem from our ISP (we were told it's delayed) for higher internet speeds and so that we can also call via the modem but until that arrives we are at least online again.
